Not the Sharpest Scimitars in the Drawer I'm so confused! I don't know about anyone else, but I'm having a really hard time getting a handle on this terrorist mentality thing. On the one hand, it's claimed that Islam is a very gentle and tolerant religion. Far more tolerant, in fact, of the beliefs of others than the stuff we're used to. (Don't make me mention TV evangelists and/or the Spanish Inquisition!) On the other hand, there's this "Jihad" nonsense. Apparently, Jihad is the product of the deranged minds of a few pseudo-religious right-wing fundamentalist whackos. Okay, we've got enough of the "Christian" variety in this country that I should be used to that by now. I guess what puzzles me the most is why we have to look for this Bin Laden fella. I mean, if he's the "true believer" he claims to be, shouldn't he have been IN one of the airplanes? What's the deal? If Jihad is, like, your ticket to heaven, Bin Laden is just the (expletive deleted) travel agent? It strikes me that the fact he is still alive and running wet-pants scared from American Rangers indicates an appalling lack of dedication on his part. And, how incredibly stoopid can this guy's followers be? What he is essentially telling them is that "the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim," and they're queuing-up to prove their worth by committing suicide. These guys can't be the sharpest scimitars in the drawer. I can't believe it never once dawned on them that the guy who was telling them how great it was to die in a "Jihad" wasn't actually coming with them. Come to think of it, I wonder how they'd feel if they knew that he is currently hiding from us "Infidels" like a scared little girl. |
